alternatieve motor?

Sorry for not writing in German.

I have a 1985 LT31d with turbodiesel engine.

My engine has a bad cylinderhead, leaking cooling water into the exhaust.
I am going home to Norway, long drive and many refills for cooling water.

Is there any alternative engines that fit to the LT?
Audi 2.0L benzine?
Mercedes?
Ford?
Volvo?

Does not matter if is benzine or diesel, just want to get a engine that runs without any problems.

a interessant projekt to take am BMW engine from 324td (e30)/ 524td (e28/ e34) or 525td (e34) into a LT. But I don`t now, if this is easy compatibel.
